ABOUT

Stellabelle is an American cryptoartist, writer and metaverse builder. She has been creating many different forms of art her entire adult life. She worked as a production artist at a sticker factory for nearly a decade and taught herself to code websites in the early internet days. She hand-painted her car five different times and wrote her first book, Un-Crap Your Life in 2015.During the Great Recession of 2008, after losing her job, apartment and eventually everything, she spent 3 months on the streets of San Diego selling or giving away her handmade postcards as part of her Patron Saint of Postcards artistic experiment. The experiment ended when she ran out of money :)She accidentally discovered the crypto rabbit hole in 2016 via Steemit while working as a science/tech writer for Interesting Engineering. She was instantly hooked as she had been searching for an underground world her whole life. Crypto was it and she never looked back.In 2017 she founded one of the first creative commons cryptoart collectives, Slothicorn on the Steem blockchain. Slothicorn was an artist community that rewarded creatives with crypto. It also provided a trusted environment for artists to learn about the blooming NFT ecosystem.She created crypto-themed art during this phase, namely, Bitcoin Hard Fork of 2017. She later minted this on Super Rare and it’s now in the MOCA permanent collection. She was also influenced heavily by Coin Artist, aka, Marguerite DeCourcelle who invented the Bitcoin puzzle art genre. Stellabelle created several of her own cipher artworks as a result of Coin Artist’s influence.In 2020, Stellabelle went full force into creating a wide variety of artworks on many different blockchains. She also began building group art exhibitions in her Voxels metaverse gallery and continues to build innovative experiences there to this day.In 2021 she created a series called CryptoStellas, a satirical project on Ethereum that illustrated some of the most absurd moments in the 10K PFP apocalypse. It was during this phase that she devised the term, Wagmi Empire to describe the newer people who co-opted the cypherpunk culture and turned it into a giant pile of money for themselves.She’s currently working on a large-scale public domain art project called Gigatura which will launch on Tezos in 2024.What is Gigatura? Gigatura tells the story of one woman’s quest to escape a dystopian techno monarchy controlled by Gigacorp in the year 2045.Stellabelle’s art has been exhibited in France, Saudia Arabia, New York as well as countless exhibitions in the metaverse.
